Hakea Laurina......

Hakea laurina aka pincushion hakea, what can I say apart from astoundingly beautiful.

Still only this tree in the front garden is flowering the two in the back garden seem to be slower. Bees and ants were covering the flowers, so delightful hearing he content buzzing of the worker bees as they collected their fill of pollen and nectar.

Each year I savor the flowering of these trees, the unraveling of the flowers so slow almost like a seductive dance. They are as I already said astoundingly beautiful and one of my most favourite of all my gardens treasured plants......
