In The Years...

In the years I have resided in the  Magic cottage my cactuses' have never flowered, in fact, I was told once by a fellow who had a cactus garden that these specific cacti would never flower as such, they would only get the little leafy green flowery things once per year which they have up until now.

Then suddenly one did flower!

Due to the fact that they tower well above me and also they are hidden amongst the swaying palms I could have missed these flowers altogether had something not prompted me to look.

Out of the four remaining it was only one that flowered, the others appear to have lost some of their thorns however no flowers appeared.

Even scampering up on to a ladder for a closer look still I could not get as close as I would have liked, so utterly magnificent and so out of reach.....

A Queen....

A queen who adores the luxurious life and is lucky enough to reside in a home where all sorts of fluffiness and softness await and her every whim is satisfied.

Reclining on a bed of velvety warmth on a brisk autumn day contently purring as life continues around her as she slumbers safe and contented.

If only all animals knew such love......

Hours Of.....

 Hours of kitten fun.
In a box..

Banksias.....

Banksias drew my attention as I drove along, so I stopped to investigate....
Like many other Western Australian flowers the banksia is otherworldly.

Woodlake Park....

Woodlake Park, Ellenbrook is my favourite suburban park and if down in the suburbs I will often stop here for a walk.
It is a rather park large although today I only meandered around the top pond I find a peaceful and inviting place despite being surrounded by houses.

As autumn has finally decided to make an appearance I noted many buds waiting to open when the weather cools a bit more there will a fabulous and vibrant change as they all begin to open so there was not a lot of colour today.

Unlike the northern hemisphere we are not blessed with the turning of the leaves, most deciduous trees in parklands are not native to Western Australia however there was one in the park that had already shed her leaves giving the pond a golden splash of colour......
