There is absolutely no better way to enjoy your lunch break than by being in a park with a flock of corellas larking about on the grass right in front of you. Corellas live in massive flocks and they like their cousins the pink and grey galahs are the clowns of the australian native birds. In between mouthfuls of food I kept taking photos of the playful antics going on. I actually thought as they played that they are very puppy like, especially when they waddle along with twigs in their beaks.
A lone duck and an ibis kept close when they figured out I didn't mind sharing a bit of rice with them seemingly oblivious to the racket and mayhem going on behind them.
Higher in the tree I was sitting under the older more subdue of the flock snuggled or dozed on the branches. One pair were absolutely adorable as they preened and canoodled in their leafy nook. They beamed such happiness at each other as they gazed longingly into each others eyes. These birds have very deep bonds and this was clearly evident with these two lovebirds......
