An Everlasting Bouquet...

An everlasting bouquet was an absolutely unexpected and unique gift, one I received on mother's day.
Flowers always seem a fitting gift on mothering Sunday, giving a dried bunch means the beauty of the flowers last so much longer than a posy of fresh flowers.
They were very much appreciated; the bouquet had laid waiting for several weeks as I thought I needed to purchase a vase for them to go in. Then I remembered I already had the perfect container to arrange them in.
Miss Bear was supervisory arrangement manager, she even did a bit of quality control, which was extremely helpful.
I feel she was as pleased as I was with the finished arrangement, which will continue to enhance my home with a touch of elegance for many years to come...

Oh How I Love...

Oh how I love stormy grey clouds and glorious rainy chilly days. I obviously reside in the wrong part of the world; because the cold damp dark weather never lasts long enough here.
My favourite rainy day activity is getting on my wellington boots, grabbing my camera and umbrella and walking in the bush. The aromas are divine as the bushland gets a decent drenching. The relaxing sound of raindrops creating a lovely warming melody that immediately seeps into my soul, gifting me with a restorative embrace...

An Exhibition...

An exhibition entirely of glass was something I had not seen before.
In fact, I don't think I'd ever thought about glass being a focus for a solo art exhibition, nor as a medium of artistic expression.
Silvana Ferrario has a way with glass that is beautiful and unique. The exhibition is titled, A Sense of Place, it explored how the environment shapes her experiences. A few of the pieces are wildly different, sculptural.
The colours and textures varied in each piece, it's truly an amazing display.
The exhibition is on until 13th of July at the Junction Arts Centre in Midland...

Real/Imagined...

Real/Imagined is a celebration of Australia's landscapes. This exhibition is a family affair with Vic Bullo sharing the exhibition with his Niece, Sarah Eve. I was equally inspired by paintings from both artists. While Sarah's are little more abstract, I could still recognise places she had captured, the scenes so colourful and vibrant.
In contrast, her uncles paintings were soft and I felt serene while gazing at them.
The exhibition is on at The Zig Zag Cultural Centre, until June 2nd, so I am glad I was able to see it before it's taken down next week...
