Looking through the back window to discover Nova and chicks relaxing on the hammock in the cat enclosure made me smile.
A really chilled place to watch the world going by on a lazy Sunday morning.
The chicks seem to have had a massive growth spurt since last weekend and are nearly fully feathered.
So swiftly they have changed.
It really is quite something raising chicks in your garden.
When I first placed them in the cat enclosure nearly five weeks ago you could barely see them over the grass, now they are nearly half the size of mama Nova.
Yesterday I noticed that Aslan was showing more interest in his tiny chicks which is a positive sign.
But the family will be kept in here one more week to make sure that the chicks really are able to take a bit of pecking from the rest of the flock as they learn their place.
As well I need them to be to big for the raven family to bother with, as they also have chicks they are feeding.
Nova is showing signs occasionally that she is a wee bit over motherhood, hopefully she will manage one more week.
Then it will be out into the garden wonderland for this happy little family........
