Aslan Is.....

Aslan is spending much more time cooing to Nova and her chicks, a sign that they are nearly ready to join the rest of the flock.
The chicks are going up to him sometimes as he and the other hens come to say hello to the little family.
In the past week the chicks have really grown, just about fully feathered, their heads still waiting on feathers, their little bodies mostly covered.
I feel they are just about ready to roam free suddenly they are looking like miniature chickens and not fluffy chicks.
They are really fast in their feet now too, and love jumping up, so I think that they might be tree climbers like their mother.
Being six weeks old this Sunday coming, it is really amazing to watch how fast chicks change and grow.
They are quite excellent fly catchers too, which is entertaining to watch, they run around after flies and then jump up to catch them.
Such funny little creatures.
The chicks are also a bit big to be sleeping under mama, they do still try though, and she is still wanting to let them snuggle beneath her, she has been such a loving and doting mother.
So this weekend will see them released out into the flock, and Nova can finally show them the wonders of life in the garden.......
