Nova and chicks joined the rest of the flock on Sunday afternoon.
Little Nova was simply overjoyed at being out of the cat enclosure and in the garden once again.
The rest of the flock have not been too interested in the chicks, and the family was soon off so mama could show them the wonders of life in the garden.
Tiny Pearl spent a bit of time with the chicks as a doting aunt.
And dad Aslan has his work cut out for him now with the chicks out in the garden, he now has eight charges to keep an eye on.
He has been very gentle with the chicks which I was relieved about, it really is such a beautiful experience having chicks, watching them grow and seeing the strong and loving bond Nova has with her babies.
Nova made a mad dash for the nightbox to lay an egg before disappearing under the shadier parts of the garden in search of worms and bugs.
Getting the family into the nightbox for the night was something I was a bit concerned about, but apart from Nova staying out digging until it was nearly dark, she rounded up the chicks and got them into bed with no trouble at all......
