The Calm After......

The calm after yet another mega storm. Monday nights storm was the worst so far, so intense was the wind and rain I couldn't sleep for the noise.
Hard to believe looking at the clear blue sky that mere hours before rain was thrashing down. The wind was still quite strong, the lake flooded the runoff thankfully not causing any problems elsewhere. Although the canoe shed was nearly underwater, perhaps after the new storm it may be underwater. There was water pooled all around the lake, something I haven't seen before. But given that in the last 31 days 28 of them have been rainy days it is not surprising that there is so much water. After so many winters where we barely had any rain this winter has been glorious.
The walk around the lake invigorating as the gusty winds blew. Again not a lot of birds around, all the ducks have left the lake to wherever it is they go to in the winter months.
With more rain still to come and yet another mighty storm expected Thursday I am taking advantage of any glimpses of blue sky to enjoy a dry walk.....
