An afternoon visit to the grandpups, who were actually more interested in the fresh egg they had been given, both going as far as to pull little areas of the grass out trying to lick up every last tiny morsel.
The star of the flowers today was this banksia featured first. Such a striking specimen. This is the first year this plant has flowered, and wow was it worth waiting for. These banksia flowers are so soft and fluffy, and the colour tantalising.
My son has a different variety of hakea than I do in my garden. The bees covering it in a feeding frenzy busily collection food for the hive. There is something about hakea flowers that the bees particularly love.
The whole garden was filled with birds flitting of and out of the foliage, trills and warbles from several different birds bringing music as we sat soaking up the warm sunshine.
The garden has an abundant feel to it, and with oranges and lillypillys ripening this abundance can soon be savoured......
