Sitting In Silence.......

Sitting in silence greeting the sun as it rises to begin another day. Around me the world is waking up, I feel the hum of life surrounding me.

No matter the weather, the garden is always full of melodies as the birds sing to greet the arrival of a brand new day, insects chirp, plants stretching towards the sun, all life is a miracle and I am so grateful I understand this.
That I feel it deeply resonating within each cell of my body, feeling in tune with the Oneness of All creation.
Simply by sitting in  silence.
Giving gratitude to my beloved Mother Earth each day is how I greet the morning, acknowledging that without her none of us would be here.
The connection I have with the Mother of us All keeps me grounded in this out of balance society I find myself in.
Without this connection to nature as my healer and my inspiration I doubt how I would survive in this disconnected society that bustles around me.
Through the gifts she bestows freely I find my peace, I see the wonder and magic in what most walk past or fail to see entirely, simple things, like new leaves on a tree, buds waiting to flower or even watching a spider spin her web.

But Mother Earth is under threat, her rivers and oceans polluted, her forests, jungles and bushlands are being savagely destroyed by the only species on the planet that thinks it knows better than her on what is needed.
The human.
Mother Earth has been keeping things balanced for way longer than the humans have been around, yet the arrogance of the human race continues to ravage her in what they call progress.

Around the world there are those of us who are quietly doing our own tiny part in maintaining balance and healing the land we have the honour of dwelling upon.
We understand that none of us own any land, we are simply caretakers.
We know the importance of getting our hands in the dirt without gloves, our feet on the earth without shoes.
We know about the interconnectedness of everything.
And we grieve.

We grieve for the destruction of the once mighty forests, for the inhumane treatment of billions of animals across the world.
We grieve for the unhealthy waters that once flowed crystal clear and sparkling.
And we grieve for the humans who have lost their way.

As new suburbs continue to be built, the more unnatural these places become.
Houses taking up virtually all of the space each dwelling is given, there is no room for any gardens.
Those that do have space for a garden, well, a garden is seldom what is planted, instead down goes the plastic grass, brick paving or concrete.

When did it occur that the majority of the human race lost its connection to Mother Earth?
Why do they not remember nor apparently care that without her there would be no us?
And why do those allegedly in charge continue to destroy this planet?

Modern society needs to do a major rethink on what is being taught in schools.
There needs to be teachings on the interconnectedness of All Life.
The importance of the natural balance that is needed to ensure a healthy planet, which in turn will see the reemergence of healthy balanced humans.
There needs to be a stepping away from the chemical spraying of food.
Stopping GMOs.
Of treating livestock with dignity and love, instead of the cruelty they endure at present.
Of using plants as medicines instead of the chemical concoctions that mainstream medical practitioners offer as solution to dis-easement, often causing more harm  to those who take them instead of any healing.
Society desperately needs to rethink what will bring balance and health to humanity and the natural world.
Society needs to stop the carnage.

Seen as weird or delusional those of us who think outside the boxes we are meant to reside in are the targets of much ridicule.
Despite this we continue to lead lives with meaning, a meaning far more gratifying than following a path that makes no sense.
We forge on in our own little pockets of the world, beautifying and nurturing where we find ourselves living, we do no harm to any living beings that dwell around us.
We encourage life to flourish.
We understand that Mother Nature plays a vital role in giving meaning and balance to human lives.
We grow food for ourselves and the wildlife around us, we understand the real meaning of nourishment.
We understand the importance of being connected to this astounding planet, of all her creatures great and tiny.
We understand that All life has consciousness, and that all life is to be respected which is why many of us prefer to spend our time in nature or with the animals we have welcomed into our lives.

We find that tending to our garden realms brings us clarity and peace.
And a contentment that cannot be found anywhere else.
As our hands tend to the earth it also cleanses our hearts, the dance of life continually merging one with another, the powerful healing waves from our Earth Mother rising up through the soil and into our fingertips gifting us love and healing and balancing our souls......
