Little Chicks.....

Little chicks are headed towards being one month old.
In some ways it feels like they have here much longer than that, they are nearly fully feathered and mama Nova is showing signs that she is wee bit over motherhood.
I am quite cautious of letting them out of the confines of he cat enclosure to join the rest of the flock in the garden given that they are still so tiny.
Luckily the raven family is not spending so much time here, their fledglings obviously strong enough to venture further afield now.
I am thinking that I may introduce the the new family to the garden this weekend, Nova is getting a bit antsy being confined in such a small space.
They are spending less time under mother, and I often catch them all exploring on their own, maybe this is a false sense of security given that no predators can get to them.
One thing is for sure Nova will have to keep a close eye on her brood once they venture out into the garden......

Their feather patterns are quite neat.
