Two of the little ones tasting lettuce for the first time with a lot of encouragement from mama, she clucked away very quietly trying to coax them into having a bite. Not wanting her to lose too much condition as she snuggles the unhatched eggs I'm keeping her topped up with food which the chicks are happily eating too.
The youngest of the three chicks decided that it was better to stay safe under mum, being a couple of days behind the other two it's not as adventurous as yet preferring the feathery warmth of its very protective and proud mama......
