The Chicks Are...

The chicks are three weeks old today.

All are getting a little more independent, although I do often sight the youngest of the three snuggled under mama's wing watching the world around her.
It truly warms my heart to see how loving Nova is to her babies.

They have mastered the art of dust bathing, they are also now hunting for worms on their own in the ground not relying on mama as much.
They are more nibble being bantam chicks and I often catch them doing a little fly, the youngest also likes to ride around on mama's back which is really cute.

With a family of ravens bring their two fledglings to the garden each day I am keeping the chicks confined until they grow a bit more, much to their mothers frustration, she is really wanting to get back out into the garden and introduce her chicks to the many wonders of life in the garden.
She will have to ride it out a bit longer though until the chicks a fully feathered and a little bit bigger......
