With Stormy Weather....

With stormy weather descending upon us yesterday I had to rethink where to put the chicks for the day as the cat enclosure would be too cold and wet, the tarp not keeping the rain at bay.
Securing the pen in which the nightbox is kept I decided that the family would be better in here during the rainy weather.
The chicks didn't bother with the ramp, in the third photo two of the chicks are blurry blobs as they flew to the ground instead of using the ramp.
The third needing rescuing by me and taken to mum and siblings.
Chicks certainly need a lot of care, still really tiny at two weeks old, I am not actually certain that they are as large as a normal size chick at birth.
They really are incredibly tiny.
They are all changing so fast, each morning there is a little less fluff and a few more feathers.
Keeping an eye on them throughout the day I noticed that they are very inquisitive and getting a little braver to explore further from mama's side.....
