Visiting FR Berry Reserve for the first time and I was in complete awe. Regenerating after the devastating fire a couple of years ago the foliage was vibrant, almost buzzing with vital lifeforce. In some parts the undergrowth so dense you could barely see through it.
The day was dry and cool to begin with before a thawing warmth emanated from above. The sound of the rushing waters of the Wooraloo Brook could be heard as I ambled along. The tranquility like a comforting hug.
Wild flowers were spotted nearly everywhere, spring is coming, the blossoms are awakening. The blackened tree trunks and grass trees were a contrast to the otherwise dazzling green that stretched out in each direction. Many varieties of the yellow hibbertia flowers were blooming like happy little suns across the bushland floor.
The brook was flowing fast after many days of wonderful downpours. The beautiful melodies of birds filled the air, none seen though. I didn't make it to the main waterfall as I am going to head back over the weekend. There is also another trail here I want to explore. But mostly I simply want to walk once again amongst the trees, serenaded by birds and soothed by the water......

Life has a way of recovering.
It certainly does.
