Not one to normally frequent suburbia I made a detour yesterday as I had heard of a solar clock in Jane Brook. A suburb which lies at the base of the foothills here in Perth.
I did like the way that they have kept this piece of land natural and not made it into a normal grassy park.
The gnomon is made of a rusty steel and given it was cloudy no shadow was falling. Surrounding the gnomon were small rocks each with a number and different artwork of flowers or animals on each.
The trees in this small park were full of rose chested cockatoos, one was staying near a tree hollow where it may have eggs or chicks inside.
At the base of the park there is a anther sculpture of kangaroos hopping which I really liked as much as the solar clock.......
