Today it was off to explore the Canning River Regional Park. I had been here briefly a few years back but had never really had a good look around.
Today it was a two and half hour walk filled with wonder with nearly every step.
Being a wetland the plants were vastly different to the places I have been earlier in the week. The day very cold, yet the walk swiftly put pay to that!
A crested pigeon escorted me on my way and then it was many moments of gapping awe. From the tangle of sculptural weavings of the entwined branches to the discovery of a bee hive high up in a tree, the sights were magical.
Birds were everywhere. There were a lot of rainbow lorrikeets, some nesting, others dropping seed pods as I walked under trees, noisily chattering away to each other. A magpie lark posed for a perfect photo as his mate wandered in the long grass.
Some beautiful flowers and many a stunning vista.
Such an enriching way to spend a day.......
