Each autumn the flowering of my pincushion hakeas is the most anticipated happening.
These incredible flowers are my absolute favourites, I have never seen anything else quite like them.
The buds teasingly linger on the tree for what seems an age, slowly becoming fuller until the silvery caps that protect the flowers begin to pop off exposing the delicate treasure hidden within.
Then they begin to leisurely unravel until the full magnificence of their exquisiteness can be enjoyed...
