What better way is there to spend a Sunday than meandering around one's garden?
Greeted by my noisy rose-chested cockatoos this morning as usual, they are growing in number so the chickens have to wait for breakfast until they fly off in disgust of not being fed. I don't mind a few flying in, some mornings there are over fifty of them. So, they are now on rations!
The day begun overcast and beautifully grey, by mid-afternoon the sun appeared warming everything up.
The chickens are all in varying stages of moulting and look rather haggard with feathers missing and others looking rather tatty. Even my regal rooster is regrowing his glorious feathers, the healing balm I have been placing in his legs and feet is starting to revive the old boy.
Life is buzzing in the garden; the autumn rains really have stimulated all the plants. there are so many buds waiting to bloom, and many plants already offering their sweet nectar to the birds and insects. Soon most of my time at home will be spent watching the birds and insects visiting the garden.
Such a rewarding and fascinating pastime...
