A Leafy Canopy.......

A leafy canopy was very much appreciated yesterday as the temperature got rather warm. A wander under the trees watching the birds was the perfect way to lose myself for awhile.

I was slightly disappointed that many of the birds had already left for where ever it is they go once the weather heats up. There were still a few ducks raising chicks and the young ibis's were still on the islands in the centre of the ponds still not quite ready to fly. I watched one testing it's wings and occasionally falling whilst doing so, it must be tricky having such long legs and big wings learning to navigate flight.

A young kookaburra was seen on entering the park and made for a delightful subject for a few photos. It appeared to be simply relaxing and enjoying the day, just like me.......
