Gaia is certainly a true araucana chicken with her love of getting in trees, apparently the breed is known for their love of getting into trees especially at night, and I have already had to chase Gaia out of the trees more than once of an evening to get her safely tucked into the night box.
She is definitely a bit of a character.
She is starting to spend a bit more time on her own now as she is nearly three months old.
Often found away from her mother as she becomes a little more independent, but will still scurry to mum if she gets a fright.
I had been concerned that Gaia may have been a rooster due to her fluffier head feathers, but she is getting no rooster plumage on her tail, so perhaps her unusual look it because she has more of the araucana genes than her mother, Brulee is a araucana cross while dad is a pure araucana so Gaia is taking on more of the araucana look than her mother.
She is turning into a rather beautiful chicken as each day passes and I am thinking of using some of the branches from pruned trees to create some sort of natural roosting place for her to explore.....

Hard to believe she was once a tiny ball of fluff.
