The unforgiving heat of summer that has been relentless for months has taken its toll on the bushland. Trees are dying, and the understory a tinderbox of dried leaves and dead plants.
With another day of 35 degrees, I did try for a nourishing meander through the bush, the intensity of the sun was too much for me and I turned around fairly swiftly back to the car.
Plus, the sight of all the plants that have perished really made my heart sad...
