A Quenda Came...

A quenda came to enjoy the crumbs dropped by customers at a cafe I visited today.
The young quenda lives in a burrow in the garden near where the tables are set up and popped out every so often to nibble at the offerings left by those at the cafe.
Quendas are adorable little marsupials, they forage on plant roots, seeds and fungi. Oh, and tasty leftovers from a cafe!
Plus, they don't need a lot of water, they are mostly able to get enough from the foods they eat...

Looks considerably bigger than a mouse, and other differences that are more apparent as you look at them.

This one isn't fully grown, so it will get bigger. Sadly, some visitors from abroad think that they are rats and hurt them.
