Incessant squawking from the tree tops as the galah and corella babies begin heading out into the big wide world. Unlike many other fledglings these youngsters will cry nonstop. Their parents will sometimes bop them on the head several times in an attempt to quieten their noisy kids. It stops them for but a second and their cries start all over again. When there are a lot of babies in the trees I find the noise deafening as the chorus of squawking continues and wonder how their parents cope.
Everywhere I seem to look in the garden there is a group of ducks. The young ducklings who come each day have shortened their stay now, they come morning and mid afternoon for some seed. The rest of the time I expect they are on the local lake. Thankfully the two with hurt feet have healed and are now waddling along perfectly......
