Revisiting Tomato Lake.....

Revisiting Tomato Lake to enjoy the bounty of natural delights on offer. Parts of the lake is covered with a green carpet of algae which tends to be a bit on the smelly side when you are downwind of the lake. Mostly though the water is clear and I did notice that there is an aerator in the lake to help keep the water healthy.

As well as the water birds I noticed many other species who were not all still enough for a photo, a few however provided an opportunity for a few great photos.
A red wattlebird seemed happy to pose while perched on a fence. I was lucky enough to notice a willy wagtail enjoying a meal of a not so lucky dragonfly. The ibis hatchery was not as busy this time, many of the nests now empty, the fledglings sticking together in small groups on the lakes small island.
The cygnets have grown so much in the few weeks since my last visit, their parents still keeping a very vigilant eye on them honking a warning if people came to close to them. A single spoonbill seen on the island in the middle of the lake, I don't see them very regularly so always appreciate it when one appears in my view. Many birds enjoying a mid afternoon bath and a couple of smaller waterbirds still sitting on their nests.

Life on the lake is certainly abundant and in perfect balance, the harmonious energy so very calming and it is still encircling me even now many hours later......
