After A Later.....

After a later start to the day than normal I enjoyed a sedate stroll around the garden before the heat of the day settled in. The striking green and black kangaroo paw flowers are still blooming and the flowers shifting and changing as they near the end of their bloom.
I noticed returning from my walk earlier in the morning that the cottage is nearly fully hidden as the front garden has bushed out considerably, one needs to actually enter the gate now and wander down the drive to see the front of the cottage. A vast change to how bare it was when I first moved here.
Throughout the garden some plants are ending their flowering whilst others are beginning to bud up. One of the aloe vera plants has a flower appearing, the first ever, the orange bell shaped flowers will bring a nice contrast to that corner of the front garden.

Zelda had a little cuddle, she was quite irate with the nesting box being in use and she was shouting her frustration. Must very annoying to being made to wait to lay an egg, bless her. An upset hen can cause quite a racket so she came for a wander around the garden to quieten her down.

It seems that the possums have been scrapping again, I discovered a lot of fur on the ground right down the back of the garden. I did a good search to make sure there wasn't an injured possum suffering anywhere under the plants. It must have been quite a squabble as there was a considerable loss of fur this time.

Different fragrances filled the air and everything apart from the grass is still flourishing and green. The heat of the sun has already began to dry out the grass which indicates that the relentless summer heat is well on its way....
