Melaleuca And Bottlebrush Flowers........

Melaleuca and bottlebrush flowers were certainly keeping the bees busy today, as well as many other native flies joining in. Flies are not really acknowledged as pollinators, but these pesky insects actually are good for something.

The melaleuca flowers are smaller than the bottlebrush and also in my view a bit fluffier. The foliage of the melaleuca is different to that of the bottlebrush as well. The bottlebrush leaves are wider and flatter.

The splashes of red and white throughout the garden is simply beautiful. The larger parrots are also enjoying the abundance of these flowers as much as the smaller honeyeaters. The parrots like to snip a flower off to nibble on it so they offer a free pruning service bless them. They also leave a carpet of flowers in their wake with the discarded flowers dropped to the ground before selecting another to munch on..........
