Best belated surprise birthday gift EVER!
My first time going four wheel driving in the middle of nowhere.
Awesome!
Truly it was.
Although a cold and sometimes rainy morning this did not stop my adventure or dampen it in any way. First of all we had to stop as some of the air had to be let out of the tyres so that the car did not get stuck. I actually didn't think that the amount of air in the tyre would make a difference, but it really does.
This was serious business!
Next it was off onto the sandy tracks where I giggled in absolute glee.
Four wheel driving is so much fun, and when we stopped along the way for photos, the quiet was unbelievable.
So absolutely silent.
It was glorious.
We did not see any creatures apart from a couple of kangaroos that were spotted in the dense bushland scrub, they camouflage so well. We did however see lots of different animal prints in the sand. Some had us discussing what had actually made the tracks.
For a while we followed some emu tracks hoping to catch up with those who had left them, sadly we didn't.
I can say with all certainty, I would love to do this again.
I was amazed also at how much untouched bushland there is out there.
Sadly though we did pass a still smoking burnt out car on our adventure and on our return we stopped to take photos and any other details that might be of use to the police.
It was quite a sickening feeling to know that people use these sacred unblemished lands as a dumping ground for theft.
The police thankful for the information and location of the vehicle and the half drunk beer bottle the thugs had left might hold a fingerprint or two leading to the idiot's who have done this.
I guess they didn't think that someone might find the still smouldering car the very next morning........
