A Few Days........

A few days ago I found myself exploring a little place that was named the children's forest in Whiteman's Park.
Sadly though the relentless summer had caused many of the plants and trees to perish. And with so many dried and withered plants, so too much of the magic this place once held had also dwindled.  Still, I did manage to find many wonders to enjoy as I walked around.

Designed to help children to learn about the importance of nature as much as discover how astonishing nature truly is.

There were many banksias flowering and as with most west australian flowers these are stunning and otherworldly blooms. Sadly not many other seasonal flowers were out. Although I think you will agree, the banksias really did make an outstanding and much needed splash of colour.

The bee and insect hotels along the way were an inspiration to see. I quite liked the tiny fairy doors scattered about too. There were several unusual sculptures as well, the large pencils in particular adding a bit of fun.

With rain becoming a bit more steady and frequent there was evidence of the bushlands coming to life. New life was beginning to spring forth around those plants and trees that had not survived the scorching days of a much too long summer. The bright vibrant green such a contrast against the dry and brittle dired brown of those plants who did not fare as well......

Thankfully. It seems to know more than we do.
