Through The Trees....

Through the trees I glimpsed the water as the teasing whispers of the wind beckoning me forward. Of course I heeded the call.
From under the canopy of the tree the lake appeared calm, stepping around the corner however I was greeted with very intense wind that nearly bowled me over.
The surface rough as the wind created mini waves that made photographing the water rather interesting. There were several broods of ducklings, their tiny bodies creating some rather abstract images as the wind refused to abate. As the ducks like me attempted to find some relief from the relentless wind I was given a peek at how well ducks camouflage themselves when settling down for a midday siesta.
A lone willy wagtail was out gathering tiny sticks and zooming off quickly to build its nest.
A pair of crested pigeons made a fuss to keep me away from their nest, while another perfectly posed for a photo.
So many ducks making their home on this lake, not all native, some perhaps escaped or dumped, although they all appear to live in harmony.
I did feel for the pink and grey galahs as I was heading back to the car, the wind ruffling their feathers as they tried with all their might to waddle against the force of the wind as they dethatched the grass.....
