Braving The Wild.....

Braving the wild weather yesterday I set of for a walk at Noble Falls. The water flowing fast, the banks of the picnic areas breached.
This month of wild winter storms has brought so much rain, rivers full and the bushland well and truly soaked. The powerful current of the water easy to see in many of the photos. Small sections of the stream had mini rapids as the water furiously rushed by.

Weaving my way through a trail away from the water I was delighted to see the bushland regenerating after the devastating fire in February.
The blackened trucks creating striking silhouettes against the stormy sky. The contrast of the vibrant green of new growth as trees shoot new branches from their fire damaged trunks a delight to see.
I am always amazed at how the trees can survive fires as intense as the one that swept through here.
Incredible beings the trees.
The ground in places was like a green carpet as new growth also springs forth from the ground. Come springtime there will be an abundance of wildflowers. No birds were seen nor heard, the weather so wild that they were all sheltering as safely as they could......

Wow, that is a lot of rushing water. I can see that it is flowing in places it doesn't usually flow. And, one brave duck giving it a try.
