Hearing the haunting call of redtail cockatoos in the garden I went out to see if I could catch a glimpse of them before they headed off. The parents of this young one were calling it and flying lazily in circles in an attempt to get her to follow them. The fledgling seemed to be somewhat tangled in the delicate branches at the top of one of my trees. Not really a sturdy place to regain one's confidence as the flimsy branches buckled under its weight. After a few minutes and with a bit more encouragement from the parent's baby join them and they all disappeared silently from sight...
