Sadly Three More.......

Sadly three more trees needed to be cut back after damage from the winds. Two cut right back as they were very unstable. The once fluffy acacia which had the appearance of a leafy cave has been taken back in hope she will resprout. This was a favourite chillout spot for many birds, ducks and of course the chickens. There is already some regrowth on the branches and with regular watering with some seasol for aiding her healing I am trusting she will soon regain her fluffy canopy.
Looking very bare down by the chickens nightbox but at least the chickens are now safe from being squashed by a falling tree.
The fig tree now has more light which will make it happy and perhaps it will quickly fill out as the weather warms once again giving the birds and chickens a lovely shady place. And maybe this year I will beat the birds to some of the figs at least. There are already a few tiny fruits appearing on the top branches which is a sure sign spring is here.........

It is always sad when a tree needs to be taken away or severely trimmed. I hope they grow back strong.
