Raging Whitewater Rapids.....

Raging whitewater rapids were the highlight of today's adventure, although given the amount of debris littering the shore and stuck in the trees the river has been utterly ferocious in recent weeks. The day warm and bright a sure sign of spring gracing us with its presence in the coming weeks.
Walyunga National Park is 49 kilometres north from where I live and a place I don't come often enough. It has been perhaps three or four years since I last came here. The vegetation different to the areas that I have been visiting recently again highlighting the diversity of the bushland. The flowers that were blooming were stunning as always.
I spotted a family of corellas with two young chicks which they were keeping a watchful eye on. They nest in the hollows of the trees like other cockatoos and parrots. They live in large flocks and they are quite the sight when thousands fly all together. This family though was keeping to the bushy protection of some sheoaks out of the way from large birds of prey.
The sculptural art of many burnt and dead trees added an arty atmosphere, this area was part of the land which ravaged the virgin bushlands nearly two years ago. It was sad to see many of the grandmother trees burnt to the ground,  although around them many saplings are flourishing......
