Gardens Are......

Gardens are the perfect place to embrace the circle of life, beginnings as a seed pushes up through the earth. Endings when plants wither and pass. There is no resistance to the natural order of life. When the time has come to return to the earth it is done so with grace.
With two trees uprooted and one split in the last intense storm I acknowledged their beauty as I prepared to cut them down. The two uprooted have been removed and the I am once again able to get into the food and flower meadow. Some of the plants have been flattened, others are still left flourishing untouched by the crashing trees. The tree that has been split will be cut back in the coming days, her once tall and graceful branches will be cut back to see if she will resprout and thrive once again.
Be it plant, animal or human, all beings live until their moment to transcends arrives.
We can either accept this cycle,or be fearful of the returning to source.
So much fear and detachment surrounds humanity with death, yet it is a natural part of life.
To embrace life fully, enjoying each day knowing that one day our time will also come brings a deep sense of clarity and acceptance.
All life is a gift.
When plants offer their flowers to the world they bloom for such a short period of time, then gracefully they begin to loose their vibrant beauty until they dry and flutter to the earth.
To live surrounded by a garden filled with life is to live in communion with the Divine Creator.
I enjoy the moments I am gifted.
Moments of oneness with a flock of ring-necked parrots who happily join me in the garden as I potter or relax.
These moments are always appreciated.
The chickens too offer lessons in acceptance. Lily my white chicken disappeared recently without a trace, she was here one day and then gone the next. I searched for her everywhere, and there was no evidence of her being attacked by a predator, yet she was gone.
Dealing with her disappearance was a shock, yet the rest of the flock was calm and at ease which made me wonder what really happened. As it turned out though Lily had taken it upon herself to go to the local pub! Well why not? There is plenty of undiscovered soil to be dug up!
Leaving the house I spotted her happily foraging in the carpark oblivious to the concern she had created. Once back in the garden and after a telling off by Aslan all was peaceful once again.
We never know what a day will bring.
We never know when our day to ascend is with us.
We can choose to live life fully, with happiness and joy.
We can learn to flow with the ups and downs life offers us and accept with grace the continuing circle of life.....

Sounds like Lily was in the mood for a little adventure. I love all the colorful birds that stop by your garden.

In the mood for adventure she was! I am very lucky to have such colourful visitors Sharon.

And a lot of worry she did cause William.
