Unless You've Exprienced.....

Unless you've experienced relentless summers where the searing heat is over 40 degrees week after week I expect you would not understand how exciting it is when the weather finally breaks. 

Yesterday afternoon was a delightful wet and cold one. 

Pouring rain and a luscious drop in the temperature was delightful. Lamps needed to be put on inside adding to the ambiance of a wintry day.

The downpour so heavy and continuous that the rain was puddling all over the garden, water cascading off the roof. 

Bowls for the birds throughout the garden filling up with fresh water as the rain continued.

Throughout the night I have woken to the deafening sound of rain on the tin roof of the cottage, a soothing lullaby which when under the fluffy warm blankets induces a peaceful sleep......
