A Golden Cane.....

A golden cane palm has replaced the dead tree, adding a tropical touch to this corner of the front garden.

I also discovered a praying mantis cocoon while dealing with the dead wood, I have placed it somewhere safe as not sure if the nymphs have hatched. 

I actually saw an absolutely weeny praying mantis in another area of the front garden as well but it managed to disappear before I could get a photo of it. 

The vine that was growing up the dead tree has a new place to entwine itself. An old bedhead.....
