With Rain...

With rain falling intermittently over the past week, I discovered a little colony of mica cap mushrooms had sprung up in a secluded corner of the garden.
I find fungi fascinating; especially given that we only see the fruiting body above ground. Below the surface is where the real magic occurs with the mycelium networks.
These networks can partner with plants which creates a cross kingdom web, where communication takes place from one species to another. Extraordinary!
This realm under our feet is dark and secret, a kingdom of vast mysteries, which without, nothing would exist.
I often wonder about what is happening beneath my feet. As I walk, does the magnificent hidden realm also sense my presence as I amble along?
Does my heartbeat resonant within the hidden kingdoms below?
There's a primitive  presence in nature that we humans cannot fully comprehend, and it oozes upwards from the earth.
I know, because I feel it, a rhythmic tone that vibrates from the soles of my feet and wriggles it's way throughout my body.
It's why walking barefooted always makes me feel held, especially when distressed.
The rhythmic pulsating instantly calms me.
The intelligence of Gaia is ancient, her intrinsic wisdom I doubt can ever be fully understood by humans.

During these splendid cooler months l love nothing more than searching for mushrooms and puffballs as I meander along connecting deeper with the magic of nature, one footstep at a time...
