A Rescue Mission...

A rescue mission was my priority today. Delilah sadly lost her owner a few days ago, even sadder for Delilah, the remaining family didn't want her anymore.

I didn't get to speak with the family; they had left home so I could come and collect her. She did seem awfully forlorn alone in her little suburban backyard space. And I am absolutely certain she knows her favourite human is no longer walking this earth. 

I was very aware of her emotional state; not only is she moving homes, taken away from everything and everyone who's familiar to her. She's also grieving.

Thankfully, I can use the kitty kids outdoor enclosure to keep her separate for a few days. I don't know if she ever lived with another chicken. Because no one was home to tell me anything about her, again, very sad!

All I was told, she was a pet chicken, and her human has passed away.

She is really easy to handle, plus she is very vocal, add to that very beautiful.

So gently I shall go with her, hopefully in a few days she'll join my little flock, and come to enjoy life in Chidlow...
