Photos from late last month have finally been uploaded from my camera after a great deal of frustration and faffing about with settings.
Although they have up loaded in the wrong order. I was so fed up with my computer by the time they finally uploaded that I wasn't going to try again to put them in the correct order.
Technology does my head in sometimes!
The star of this particular day at the lake was a particular swamphen who was busy preening herself by the waters edge. I was mesmerised watching her in this private moment, it was almost like she was performing ballet.
I had followed two on my way back along the trail, I find their pristine white bottom feathers really quite adorable. They are about the size of a chicken and sometimes behave as bizarrely as my chickens do, doing quite random things.
They favour a plant based diet. You can often see them close to, or in the water. They tend to be found in a family group near bodies of water. They can be quite cheeky if you happen to be picnicking at Lake Leschenaultia, if you leave you items unattended they will come and investigate. And have been known to run away with food if they are quick enough.
Obviously a few other scenes caught my attention, even though I didn't get very far this particular visit. Yet, as always, I left with a full heart...
