Down in the city, well the outskirts of the city really isn't a regular occurrence for me.
Last year a new pedestrian bridge was completed over Derbal Yerrigan (the Swan River) so I decided it was time to go and have a look, and a walk.
It was a beautiful winters day, it started off really chilly yet turned out warm. The bridge was quite impressive and adds interest to the bland skyline. There's apparently 17,000 LED lights that illuminate the bridge at night, I expect that's rather impressive.
There's been a transformation to the area surrounding the bridge, which was well overdue.
As the plants grow I think it will enhance the area more. I took a couple of shots looking south of the river towards South Perth, and one to the east where the casino is located. It was a 45 minute stroll from one side to the other.
I was pleased to see that the design of the bridge incorporated a boomerang and art dedicated to first nation people. The bridge goes over Matagarup Island which is a place of significance to first nation people. Next time I will explore the area a little more, overall I thought the bridge impressive...
