A Few...

A few photos taken at Tomato Lake, one of the places around the Perth metropolitan area that's known for it's abundance of bird life.
Sadly though, when these were taken the lake was incredibly low, and the birds few. It's getting closer to breeding season for the white Ibis, equally sad is that their normal nesting area has died in huge clumps over the summer months. Adding to that there's a prominent sand island where normally the water is a good depth. It's definitely very sobering seeing wetland areas beginning to struggle more each year during the dreadful harsh summer weather...

So lovely to see these birds! Thanks for sharing, here in Montreal the weather has been really hot and humid over the last few days. We are just getting some rain now but I don't know if it will be enough to cool it a bit. It was 96 degrees Fahrenheit today or 35 Celsius. Seeing these photos brings me much joy!
