Just as I was leaving for the day the magpies showed up with their babies in tow after a bit of food. The chicks were slightly intimidated by the chickens yet did seem to settle rather quickly. As well as the magpie family a couple of fledgling ducks were also enjoying the corn and oats thrown out as a nutritious midmorning snack......

We don't have magpies here but I've seen them in Europe. They are interesting birds.
Quite a crowd.
