Obviously words got out that watermelon was on offer this afternoon. Stopping the watering of the garden part way through to let the duck folk come for a cooling afternoon snack. The chickens eating their fill and leaving what was left for everyone else to enjoy.
The word has seemed to have spread also that my car is a wright off as the ducks now only use this car and not the one I have been loaned as a perching place. There was many a tail tugged and a couple chased off the roof before all the ducks realised that a cooling treat of watermelon was worth fighting over more than the roof of a stationary car destined for the scrapheap .........
