It Seems Like......

It seems like a long time since I have spent a whole day pottering about in the garden. Everything has shifted and changed so much with all the rain we have been graced with this winter. I pruned a few of the larger trees careful not to disturb any nesting birds and did a bit of this and that. I took time to appreciate what a beautiful relaxing garden it has evolved into. Such a sensory garden with sights, sounds and scents to awaken your soul.

I spent a lot of time watching my chickens as they went about life in the garden. I love to watch them all settle down for an afternoon nap after the communal dust bath. What I love about it the most is when they are all content laying in the sun they purr. It is such a wonderful thing to witness. To hear them purring as they all cuddled together is simply priceless. A few portraits of my fluffy flock were also taken. Such gentle creatures and quite photogenic as it turns out too.

Mr and Mrs duck were here as usual, they went to sit under one of the acacia trees after I gave it a prune. They seem to appreciate the new shady haven and spent most of the day under there. The garden has many interesting little nooks now that everything is getting taller. I am midway through revamping one of the bird baths with a selection of bright coloured paints. Hopefully I can complete it in a couple of weeks.
Today I actually took photos all around the garden like I got into the habit of doing last spring. It became my weekly garden update post, so it is a bit of a tour today. Lots of flowers out as well as birds and bees. Such a nourishing and beautiful day.......

What an idyllic life your hens and ducks live! If only humans would live that simply...
