With Several...

With several posts from May still lingering in drafts I thought I ought to get them posted before starting on those still pending from June.
It's the first time in many years I have had such a backlog of posts.

This particular day in mid May I was out looking for mushrooms at the lake.
I find mushrooms fascinating for the symbiotic role they have with plants and trees.
Plus for the way they recycle nutrients which is beneficial for healthy soil.
Fungi are more than the fruiting body of mushrooms that I get to enjoy above ground. Most of the marvellous world of fungi is underground which is the mycelium network. That realm would be beyond fascinating to explore.

I settle for searching for mushrooms as it always fascinates me at the strength it must take for them to push through the soil. Especially those so tiny it's difficult to see them.

Mushrooms also always induce thoughts of pixies and elves and the fantastical kingdoms of the faerie folk. Although, here they are known as walatha walatha, meaning little people. The walatha walatha are guardians and protectors of the land. These spirit people also act as messengers and protectors.
They are shy and avoid being seen, and have deep ancestral significance to the land.

I do believe there's far more to this world than our limited human perception can see or fully comprehend...
