A sad beginning to the day with one tree being cut down completely and another cut back so she no longer draped over the roof of the cottage. I was very concerned about other plants in the garden being hurt during the operation, I need not have worried as it all went very smoothly.
The shady nook in the front garden is no more. There are other plants in this area which are nearly fence height, perhaps a handful of fertiliser and more direct sunshine may induce a growth spurt to hide the big gap.
The fence has been damaged by the tree falling, thankfully though the fence broke the trunk falling onto the water main and tap. If that had of happened it would have been disastrous...
