A Sunny Morning.....

A sunny morning with the teasing chill from a gentle breeze made for a perfect walk around my favourite suburban lake in Ellenbrook. 

Clear signs of Spring spreading her gentle warmth across the land were everywhere. Flowers beacons to bees and birds alike. The water full of sounds as many birds proudly took their chicks out for a morning paddle. Even the undergrowth came alive as many a warning quack was heard to stay away from brooding ducks protecting their young. 

The purple swamphens and their chick would not keep still enough for a clear photo and I only managed a couple of fuzzy shots of the equally fuzzy baby. 

The eurasian coots chicks though would have to be the most zany chicks of the day. Such funny little creatures with their featherless heads. 

The prettiest for me were the australian grebe chicks out on the lake with their parents. So beautiful with their stripey faces. 

Enthralled by what surrounded me the minutes blended into hours and time ceased to be.....
