Perhaps Nova was a meerkat in a previous life, for she is to be found frequently high up off the ground doing her own Nova thing, she is definitely a real individual this tiny soul and not one to follow the flock.
Keeping watch or just preferring a different view?
I don't know why she likes climbing trees or this particular wooden perch, or any other place that gives her a better view of the garden.
Interestingly though, since Nova has taken to seeing life from new heights I have seen a couple of the other hens trying to follow her lead. They don't get as high though, but it is clear that Nova has brought a different vibe to my chicken family and the other hens are appearing to show interest in this tree climbing lark.
It is just one of the quirks that makes this little hen such a joy to have in the garden, because I really don't know where I will find her next and her uniqueness really is so inspiring to witness, she is a free spirit enjoying her life in each and every moment..........
