I'd been looking for a new bedside lamp for the longest time and had actually given up hope of finding one that I liked.
The styles that were available were cheap looking and not really my kind of thing. Most shops seemed to sell variations of the same drab designs. I always wonder why retailers follow suit in what apparently is in fashion, whether household items or clothes. Because, not everyone likes the same thing. I guess that's why charity shops do such good trade these days.
Anyway it had come to the point where I wasn't actively looking anymore. I had resigned myself to having to use the main bedroom light.
And that's when this perfect lamp finally showed up...

I like that lamp. Thrift stores and charity shops do very well for several reasons. The items they sell are often donated and their prices are cheaper.
Another reason is old items get a new life, thus reducing the amount of garbage that ends up in the landfill.
Yes, you can find some treasures and unique items, kind of like going on a treasure hunt.
And unlike retailers, they don't need to worry about the frequency in the changes in styles and seasons.
Where and how?
Just in time! It looks nice.
